Salon Series 2010-2011

Our popular Salon Series is the foundation of TACT's success. These unique presentations offer an intimate theatrical experience - enjoyed exclusively by our subscribers - and include complementary refreshments with the cast.

This season our Salon Series revolves around the theme of "A Fine Romance" - but don't think of these plays as your typical romances full of hearts & flowers. These witty and wonderful works by writers including John Van Druten, Aldo di Benedetti, Ferenc Molnar and Thomas Job fall more into the romantic camp described by the immortal song by Dorothy Fields and Jerome Kern - you know, the kind of romance with no kisses, Arctic seals, and cold mashed potatoes...

We think you'll enjoy these unusual finds of a romantic nature:

Olympia, by Ferenc Molnar
I Am a Camera, by John Van Druten
Uncle Harry, by Thomas Job
Two Dozen Red Roses, by Aldo di Benedetti

Overview

Inspired by Christopher Isherwood’s Berlin Stories (also the source for the musical Cabaret), John Van Druten draws an affecting portrait of young people trying to come to terms with their hopes and dreams as the decadence of the Weimar Republic gives way to the relentless evil of the Nazi Reich.
