John Plumpis

John PlumpisTACT member since 2000/2001 Season.

 NATIONAL COMPANIES: The Lion King, Neil Simon’s Laughter on the 23rd Floor, and in Barrymore starring Christopher Plummer.  He reunited with Mr. Plummer in 2011 for a Toronto revival of the play, which was subsequently made into a film.  NEW YORK: Playwrights Horizons, Roundabout, Primary Stages, Mint Theatre Company, The Lark, Repertorio Espanol, and NYMF.  A regular at regional theatres across the country, he has appeared in a wide variety of comedies, dramas, musicals and Shakespeare. INTERNATIONAL: toured with Japan’s avant garde troupe the Suzuki Company of Toga in a bilingual production.  Every so often he can be heard or seen on a television show or commercial.  He has presented workshops at over 50 colleges/universities, multiple Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festivals, and he teaches speech and classical text at Montclair State University. MFA Acting from the University of Delaware, and BA Political Science from the University of Rochester. Some of his thoughts on the Theatre have even been published.
