SYNOPSIS |
The fabric of one English family is stretched to the ripping point under the strain of suspicion, revenge, and guilt. A prodigal son returns home to his family estate for the matricarch's birthday, but something is desperately wrong. What is his dread secret? Had he really committed some unspeakable crime, or has he merely imagined it? And if so, why is he being pursued by vengeful furies? Or is he? See if you agree with the NY Times that this is "the finest verse play since the Elizabethians." |
