Idiots Delight

By Robert Sherwood
Directed by Scott Alan Evans

INTERNATIONAL POLITICS

January 28-31, 2000

The New-York Historical Society

SYNOPSIS
Set in a second-rate resort hotel in the Italian Alps on the eve of WWII, this 1936 tragicomedy is a prophetic commentary on the mad game of war. Sherwood, the author of "Abe Lincoln in Illinois" and "The Petrified Forest," noted that, as with much of his writing, he "starts off with a big message and ends with nothing but good entertainment."
