Thanks to The Noël Coward Estate, TACT will present the World Premiere of Salute to the Brave,  an extraordinary lost play written in 1941 as an attempt by Sir Noël on behalf of the British government to encourage the U.S. to enter World War II.  The ink was barely dry on the script when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor and, well, the rest is history.  The play languished in a proverbial drawer for 75 years until it was recently brought to light by Coward scholar, Barry Day.

Set among the moneyed-set in Connecticut, Salute to the Brave offers a blistering look at the dangers of complacency and head-in-the-sand isolationism when a privileged British woman, married to a Naval Commander, escapes the bombing in London to the safety of wealth and comfort in the U.S.  What she discovers there and the self-realizations she makes are at the center of this provocative comedy.
