CAMPBELL’S OR PROGRESSO? Any theater company whose motto includes celebrating "language, the actor and the spoken word" is just fine with me, and The Actors Company Theatre (TACT) does that, and also seeks to present "neglected or rarely performed plays of literary merit." This month, TACT, formed by the actors Scott Alan Evans, Cynthia Harris and Simon Jones in 1992, presents Garson Kanin’s adaptation of the French farce The Good Soup (Le Bonne Soupe) by Felicien Marceau on Jan. 24, 25 and 26 at the Florence Gould Hall at the French Institute Alliance Français. (Trivia Alert: this is the first time this work has been performed in New York since the 1960 Broadway production in which Kanin directed his wife Ruth Gordon.) The TACT production will be directed by Kyle Fabel and Delphi Harrington, Darrie Lawrence, Simon Jones and Gregory Salata, among others, are in the cast. Allez-vouz-en! 212-307-4100
